BEACH HEAD STRIKE FORCE - GICLÉE CANVAS PROOF

Published as a limited edition at the end of 1991, prints were signed by five leading F4U Aces including two Medal of Honor recipients. Little wonder that it sold out within days of release and is always in demand on the Secondary Market. Now, thanks to the latest high-definition digital technology that prints directly on to fine grade canvas, Beach Head Strike Force is once again available to collectors - this time as the latest in Robert's hugely popular series of artist-signed giclée proofs on canvas, creating the look and feel of the original painting.

JOHNNIE JOHNSON - Book & Print Portfolio

The centrepiece of this highly-restricted edition features a detailed drawing entitled Wing Leader, beautifully created in a style that few can match, portraying Johnnie leading the Mk.IX Spitfires of his 144 Canadian Wing out across the Channel as they head for the Normandy beach-head on the morning of D-Day, 6 June 1944.

SKYTRAIN TO NORMANDY

Having just crossed the Normandy coast and heading towards the glider landing zones with their fighter escort are C-47 Skytrains of the 88th Troop Carrier Squadron / 438th Troop Carrier Group, one of four air transport groups taking part in the Elmira mission. Towing 36 Horsa and 14 CG-4 Waco gliders the 438th's C-47s had departed from RAF Greenham Common soon after 19.00 hrs and will shortly make their Normandy landing zone at 21.20 hrs.

ACE OVER NORMANDY

Portrayed are the Mk.IXb Spitfires of 412 Squadron RCAF, one of the 55 Spitfire squadrons that took part in D-Day air operations between 5 and 7 June 1944. Tasked with providing cover, Anthony depicts the squadron at the end of a long day shortly before they finally turn for home after a final sweep to encompass the scene over Utah beach where men and armour from the U.S. VII Corps continue to pour ashore. In the foreground is the Spitfire of Don Laubman who would become one of Canada's top-scoring Aces.

CAMARADERIE

In perhaps the most significant Luftwaffe release ever produced by the Military Gallery, every print in this highly-restricted edition is hand signed and personally titled by artist Robert Taylor and issued matted to full conservation standards to include the original autographs of an astonishing THIRTY Luftwaffe fighter Aces who between them amassed 3285 victories. It's of great historical importance that this long list of highly-regarded veterans includes perhaps the three most famous names of them all - the three highest scoring Aces in the history of aerial combat; Erich Hartmann, Gerhard Barkhorn and Günther Rall.

TIGER FIGHT

It is 80 years since Chennault formed the Flying Tigers and both to commemorate that anniversary and remember the defiant spirit of his small but intrepid band of flyers, Anthony Saunders has created TIGER FIGHT, a piece worthy of the occasion. Anthony graphically depicts the P-40 of Ed Overend, a leading pilot with the AVG's 3rd Pursuit Squadron, the 'Hell's Angels', as he successfully strikes a Japanese Nakajima Ki-43 'Oscar' fighter over the China - Burma border in the early Spring of 1942.

TIGER FIGHT - Matted Collector's Edition

EAGLES OF THE WEST

Complementing Robert's work and adding great historic interest for collectors, every print in the edition carries the original signatures of some of the most famous Luftwaffe Aces who fought in the Battle of Britain. This is likely to be a landmark edition from the world's most collected aviation artist with a line-up of signatories that will never be repeated. Although sadly no longer with us, their names remain a powerful reminder of the mighty force that went into battle with the best of Fighter Command.
